Mitochondria reignited
Ignitus Bio aims to measure a patient's mitochondrial function and to use healthy mitochondria to restore energy in critical tissues, like the heart.
Healthy mitochondria power functional tissue
Every cell relies on mitochondria — small structures that generate the energy needed to function. In the heart and brain, which carry especially high energy demands, even modest declines in mitochondrial function can have serious consequences.
Over time, or after events like a heart attack or stroke, mitochondria become damaged. Cells lose their ability to produce energy efficiently, which contributes to tissue injury, slower recovery, and long-term decline. Despite being a fundamental driver of disease, there are no therapies today that directly restore cellular energy production in adult patients.
I started Ignitus Bio around a simple conviction: that failing energy production inside our cells is one of the most under-addressed drivers of decline in the heart, brain and other organs.
My background is in biomicrofluidics for processing cells. Today, I'm focused on building the science, the partnerships, and a responsible path to bring mitochondrial medicine to those who need it most.
